GENERAL DAILY CARE
- Remove any poop you find in the tank.
- Remove any old rotting food.
- Spray the tank with water to keep humidity high.
- Check that the heat mat is working & that the thermostat is set on the correct temperature.
TANK MAINTENANCE
The tank sides & ceiling should be wiped down from condensation once or twice a week.
If this is not done the condensation water will just accumulate in the substrate, becoming to wet & muddy for the snails. To wipe it down one can use disposable tissue paper or a clean soap free cloth. Some snail keepers retain a cloth just for their snail's tank, that is never washed with soap, but just washed with hot water when the cloth get's muddy.
If you wish to clean the tank, (In cases where you are worried about a chemical spill or parasite living in your tank) make sure it is empty and only wash it with hot /boiling water. Avoid the use of chemicals.

SUBSTRAITE MAINTENANCE
- It helps the substrate remain soft keeping it easy for the snails to burrow into. - it is essential for egg checking.
& replaced with fresh coir/soil. |
If you have 1 or 2 sexually mature snails, egg checking needs to be done twice a week. If you have 3 or more sexually mature snails housed together you should egg check daily If you have a clean up crew they will reduce the need for poop picking & removal of old food as the spring-tails / woodlice will eat it. |
